About Karen J.

After 20 years of owning her equestrian center in Maine, where she helped people of all ages realize their dreams of riding and owning horses, Karen transitioned out of the snow to the South Carolina coast to help people realize their home ownership dreams. Whether matching a horse to a rider or a home to a family, Karen strives to hear what her client is looking for and works tirelessly to find it. Karen traveled through much of the US during her time as an Account Manager for an equestrian supply company. Of all the places she visited, Pawleys Island is the place she chose to call home. There truly is something for every taste and budget here in Pawleys and throughout the Grand Strand, and she's excited to share the options with those new to the area as well as to help those already here make the changes they would like. Each year, a portion of all closings are donated to the Baskervill Food Pantry whose aim is to "offer a “hand-up” not a “hand-out” to help reduce the number of families affected by hunger in our community".  In Spring of 2025, Karen's husband, Bruce DeVoe, joined Karen to form The Lappas DeVoe Team, to ensure all clients have plenty of support throughout the buying and/or selling process.  Never hesitate to reach out -- 843 344 6452
